In Sedona

Posse Grounds Park

505 Posse Ground Road, Sedona · Public · Free

Sedona’s main pickleball home. Eight dedicated outdoor courts with permanent nets and lights, opened in late 2024. Open daily (roughly 5 a.m.–10 p.m.), first-come, first-served, with restrooms and water on site. The city’s free Pickleball Organized Play (POP) drop-in sessions run here on select weekday mornings and evenings — great for meeting players and getting into a game. Confirm current POP times with City of Sedona Parks & Recreation.

Best for: casual public play, meeting locals, evening games under the lights.

Resort & club courts

Several Sedona-area resorts and athletic clubs have courts, including options in and around the Village of Oak Creek just south of town. These are generally guests- or members-only, not open public play, and policies vary — call ahead if you’re hoping to play as a visitor.

Best for: guests already staying at a property with courts.

Near Sedona (Verde Valley)

Cottonwood (about 25 minutes away)

Cottonwood has the most courts in the area — a large public complex with more than a dozen free outdoor courts. The Cottonwood Recreation Center also offers indoor court time, shared with basketball, for a small drop-in fee. If you specifically want public indoor play in the Verde Valley, this is the closest bet.

Best for: the widest choice of public courts, and the only public indoor option nearby.

The indoor gap

It’s worth saying plainly: within Sedona itself, there are no public indoor courts. Every public court in town is outdoors. For much of the year that’s lovely — but Sedona sits above 4,000 feet, so summer afternoons get hot and winter mornings get cold, and outdoor play follows the forecast.
